Dear
Colleagues
The
World Health Organization is developing a health impact assessment website.
The goal of the web site is to provide user-friendly access to
international examples of HIA practice and key documents; establish
links with individual-nation HIA websites, and highlight relevant HIA work
within WHO, Regional Offices and Collaborating Centres. The target audience
for the website is HIA beginners from all countries, with a particular focus
on Governments and Government agencies, non- Government organizations and
practitioners.
WHO
are collecting examples of practice from around the world to include in the
global WHO HIA website, and would like to ask for you help on obtaining
relevant HIA toolkits, complete HIA, case studies or any other work you think
would be useful to other HIA users and doers.
To
have work included on the website, we require a simple authorisation form to
be sent back to us. The form is attached below. Please fill it yourself
or pass it to the relevant person. The form can be sent back to us by
email (hia@who.int), fax or post, hopefully with the electronic copy of the
relevant
document(s).
Thank
you for your help with this project, which should be a very useful resource to
promote and support the use of HIA, and encourage the inclusion of health
considerations into development policies, programmes and projects.
I
look forward to hearing from you.
Warm
regards
Dr
Carlos Dora, dorac@who.int
